Meet Our Staff
Our Staff structure starts at the top with John Robinson himself.
He has been a top Professional Footballer since 1988, making well
over 500 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic,
Cardiff City and Gillingham, as well as 30 caps for Wales. John
devises our weekly programme and provides professional drills and
skills for our coaches. The organisation and child care of the John
Robinson Soccer School match the level of coaching living up to
our slogan 'The Professional Way!'
The Soccer School is run by our most experienced and qualified
staff, including Kevin Laundon, Jon Binney and Rob, whilst children
are placed by age with their own Coach. All our youngest groups
also have an assistant Coach, ensuring 100% supervision at all times.
We reinforce children's safety with our security awareness, extensive
insurance, and even a qualified first-aider at each site!

John Robinson
John's career began in 1987 when, at the age of 16, he signed
his first professional contract/agreement with Brighton and
Hove Albion. At this time, the team was at the height of their
success in the top Division of the League (Championship).
He joined Charlton Athletic in 1992 and spent the next eleven
years playing for the club. During his career with Charlton
the team was promoted twice. Charlton became the League Champions
in the season 2000 to 2001.
In 2002 he left Charlton Athletic and spent one season playing
for Cardiff City. After this period he felt the need to spend
more time with his growing family and retired from professional
football in 2004. He was 33.
Throughout his professional career he played over 500 games
in the top two English Divisions.
His International Career began during his time at Brighton
and Hove when he was chosen to pay for Wales in the under
twenty one team. Terry Yorath, gave him his senior debut in
a European Championship game against Poland.
Over his eight year career in the senior team he had the
opportunity to play with some of the greatest footballers
of the decade including Mark Hughes, Neville Southall, Ian
Rush, John Hartson, Chris Coleman, Mark Bowen, Gary Speed,
Dean Saunders, Craig Bellamy and his room mate of 6 years,
Ryan Giggs.
During his international career he played in a number of
World Cup and European Championship qualifiying matches playing
against countries that included Holland, Italy, Brazil, Argentina,
Portugal and Denmark to name but a few.
Playing against this calibre of team allowed him the opportunity
to play against some of the world's top players including
Berkamp, Ronaldo, Raul, Rivaldo, Baggio, Keane, Maldini, Crespo,
Roberto Carlos, Schemichael, Figo, and Seedorf to name a few.
After a very successful and fulfilling career as a professional
footballer he now has the opportunity to train and inspire
young footballers through his own Soccer School. Formed in
1996 the club grew to become one of the biggest in Sussex
with between 750 and 1000 children attending over a four week
period.
He was also the Head of Football and resident football coach
at Newlands Independent Day and Boarding School in Seaford,
East Sussex. He was awarded the PFA Premlim Coaching Badge/qualification
in 1988 and took up his position at the school in 2004. For
three years he has spent a very enjoyable and rewarding time
coaching students between the ages of 6 and 18.
Most recently, he brought his soccer school to Southwest
Florida. In 2008, John served as head coach at Canterbury
School in Fort, Myers Florida - serving over 120 children
in the first two weeks. Now in its second year, John Robinson
Soccer School has expanded to new venues in Fort Myers and
Cape Coral, and is providing personal training, coaching programs
and soccer tours. |
